Content Remains King - Internet or No Internet

The buzz of the internet is more prevalent today than ever before. The internet has become a viable and effective medium for business commerce. It's important to realize that even though the internet is a viable medium, it won't be an effective one without the right content. Make certain you are communicating with your customers and prospective customers with the same effectiveness as your messages in traditional media.

The content, message, and information you convey needs to be persuasive, benefit rich, and compelling in order to maximize your efforts. Doing anything less than that is a wasted opportunity.

Throughout the 20th century, and now in the 21st century it remains imperative you incorporate the necessary, fundamental elements that work to gain attention and elicit a response into your message. This standard of direct response advertising remains true with any type of media you are utilizing, including the internet.

Any form of advertising should include proven methods that have worked throughout the years to increase response, increase customer base and increase sales.

A few key elements are:
1. Proposition: Benefit rich offers and incentives
2. Features: Specific features that compel your customer
3. Tonality: How your message is conveyed to your audience
4. Urgency: Provide limits and timeframes for customer to react/respond

Just remember when creating and delivering information through the internet, your message should be specific and relevant to your products and services. If you can't write copy, hire a professional copywriter. It is well worth it. Your website content should flow with easy-to-read information, and contain keyword phrases that help improve your visibility and increase your search engine rankings.

The use of advertising copy that contains the elements mentioned above is as important on your website as on an outdoor billboard. You must get to the point quickly and make sure your customer knows exactly what the benefit is for them. You might need to tell them why they need the benefit, and you do that by telling them about the features of the offer. You must utilize tonality to reach your potential and existing customers on an emotional level. Urgency is the final element that compels your customer to act quickly, before forgetting about the offer you are making. All of these items work together to call the consumer to action by emailing your dealership, calling your dealership or visiting your dealership.

With all types of media it's imperative that you convey all the necessary elements to be effective with your communication. The consumer must understand why they should come to your dealership, buy your products and do business with you.

If your traditional or internet advertising is not effectively working for you, don't blame the medium, blame the message. If you find yourself needing assistance in developing these types of messages consult a professional advertising firm that is familiar with your industry, your customers and your products. But be aware that not all advertising firms will agressively reach out to your customers with strong messages. Some deal in brand awareness and soft sell. If you want a response, make sure the agency is well versed in direct response advertising, and that they have a proven track record with RV dealerships just like yours.
